Hello Fear.
Here we are again.
Face to face, embracing as one who greeted an old friend.
Your adornment is lovely. How you look well!
Life has been good to you, what stories you must have to tell.
What brings you here? Surely I’ve paid all my dues?
With only the air that filled my nostrils, there was nothing else left to lose.
Last time you visited, my pride left with you.
And before that, my love, my career and my home had followed too.
I know you don’t want me dead. You’ve said that many times.
So why come back so soon, when there’s nothing left to find?
Your sanity remains, you hold so tightly to it.
It leaks from your mind, every day you choose to fight it.
Let me have it, and I promise never to return.
You’ll be free from the pain, no lessons left to learn.
My mind? The only part of me left… Let it go?
How could I…when it was saving me from death?
Not today, I told her as I asked her to leave.
“I’ll see you soon my dear, as my visits never cease.
You’ll never be free of me as long as you keep holding on.
I’ll rip you to shreds until everything is gone.”
It will get easier as long as I’m here.
Thank you for not giving me up, and holding me so dear.
It was my sanity speaking. I knew her voice too well.
God was still with me… The time was now to escape this hell.
